Thrilled to have you here and tell you a bit more about myself and the idea of Sweat and Spirit. Sports has always been my biggest passion. I grew up doing ice skating on a high level and sensed therefore what SWEAT means for me - being dedicated to your passion and get up every day to achieve more. I learnt to always give my best, to trying again after falling and to working hard. At that time, I didn’t worry specifically about the balance of Yin & Yang even though I knew theoretically how important rest was. This was an ongoing pattern in my life.
To do “nothing” on a Sunday was hard for me until I was in the midst of my yoga path. I started with Yoga in Egypt. At first, I practiced asanas and wanted to flow through as many positions as possible. There I was again – practicing and not giving up, getting frustrated when it didn’t work out the way I wanted to. I realized thanks to health conditions that I needed to take a step back. I needed to relax, to take deeper breaths, to do less and to find my SPIRIT. I started to accept failure and listened better to my body. Never had headstands been my thing, so I stopped pushing myself and took it easy. I found calmness in meditation and other joy. So here I am now, one step back, still ambitious and (mostly!) balanced in the energies of Yin and Yang – balanced between SWEAT and SPIRIT.
It is my aim to support you on your way whether you need someone to push you and kick that Yang up or someone who takes you on a relaxing journey away from all the rush and hustle and to blossom your Yin. We will get that energy-harmony of Yin & Yang together! Influenced by movements and training I did as an ice skater my personal sequencing is unique – probably dance-like and aesthetic. However, I encourage every student to listen to their body and to perceive their sense of ease remembering that yoga and training is unique and an independent journey to every person!
